Picnic With Savoir Faire

It is the weekend and it looks as if it is going to be a wet one for Saturday at least. Not the weather for a picnic! Summer is the perfect for picnics. I always remember as a child going on picnics, with family and extended family. Out would come the wicker baskets, with Bakelite plates, cups, anodised aluminium beakers for the children, tins of sandwiches, thermos’ of hot tea and other assorted picnic fare.

I love old antique and vintage sets however some of the newer ones available today are just fabulous. I am sure savoir faires that you can choose something from the selection below, to make your picnic full of savoir faire!

  1. David, I love you blog! WE have much in common. I have recognized your good stuff on little augury today, I am always keen to introduce readers to new blogs.Gaye

  2. They are all so lovely, I could not choose to save my life.
My favorite picnic memory was packing a classic wicker basket with champagne glasses, cold chicken, potato salad, cucumber and tomato relish and rolls and sitting on the back of my BMW with my boyfriend in the park.
It does not get any better for a southern summer picnic!
    Love your choices, cheers!

  3. Gayle, As I love yours as well. Many thanks for y=the reference on your blog! I will have to think now of a suitable reply.

Kimmy, What a great memory! I always remember our family picnics.

  4. I used to do the windows for Williams-Sonoma. They always carried great picnic baskets. I've missed your blog, sweet man. My Mother was visiting all last week, so I wasn't on the computer much.

  5. I love the sixt one. Wonderful. And much too expensive, I guess...
    Great post!

  6. Jill, no problems. I am not always a big fan of W&S, howver yes they had some great baskets.

Joe, Good taste! I am not sure about the cost.

  7. These are so great. I remember that I received a fabulous picnic basket from Abercrombie & Fitch...the old venerable store...not the new store. I wondered whatever happened to it....

  8. Belle, what a wonderful store it must have been before the current one.
