Picnic With Savoir Faire

It is the weekend and it looks as if it is going to be a wet one for Saturday at least. Not the weather for a picnic! Summer is the perfect for picnics. I always remember as a child going on picnics, with family and extended family. Out would come the wicker baskets, with Bakelite plates, cups, anodised aluminium beakers for the children, tins of sandwiches, thermos’ of hot tea and other assorted picnic fare.

I love old antique and vintage sets however some of the newer ones available today are just fabulous. I am sure savoir faires that you can choose something from the selection below, to make your picnic full of savoir faire!

  2. They are all so lovely, I could not choose to save my life.
My favorite picnic memory was packing a classic wicker basket with champagne glasses, cold chicken, potato salad, cucumber and tomato relish and rolls and sitting on the back of my BMW with my boyfriend in the park.
It does not get any better for a southern summer picnic!
    Love your choices, cheers!

  4. I used to do the windows for Williams-Sonoma. They always carried great picnic baskets. I've missed your blog, sweet man. My Mother was visiting all last week, so I wasn't on the computer much.

  7. These are so great. I remember that I received a fabulous picnic basket from Abercrombie & Fitch...the old venerable store...not the new store. I wondered whatever happened to it....
